Food is distributed at its location at 337 Peekskill Hollow Road, Putnam Valley, NY, 10579. Putnam Valley Community Food Pantry (PVCFP) was opened in November 2004 to combat hunger and food insecurity in Putnam and northern Westchester counties. The PVCFP serves communities including Putnam Valley, Lake Peekskill, Yorktown, Cortlandt, Peekskill, Shrub Oak and Mohegan Lake. PVCFP was founded by a coalition of churches and organizations in our area including St. Luke's Lutheran Church as well as Grace United Methodist Church, The Reform Temple of Putnam Valley, St. Columbanus Roman Catholic Church and the Putnam Valley Rotary Club. Leadership of the food pantry is an interfaith and community based venture. PVCFP is a registered tax deductible 501(c)3 charitable organization. |
Please DonateBeginning May 1st, 2021 through December 31st, 2021, each dollar you donate to the Putnam Valley Community Food Pantry will be matched dollar to dollar from the Bob and Dolores Hope Foundation.
Your support is needed today to help provide hunger relief to children and families in our community. With the exception of liability insurance, every dollar donated to the pantry is used to purchase food for the clients. Food donations are always appreciated but your monetary donation is even more beneficial to provide for those in need. This is due to the fact that the Putnam Valley Community Food Pantry works with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley to purchase in bulk supply. As an example, a $10 donation can provide approximately 65 pounds of food for those in need (purchased from Food Bank of the Hudson Valley). |
Volunteers NeededThe Food Pantry is run entirely by volunteers.
A group of volunteers (4 – 8) transports anywhere from 4000 to 9000 pounds of food (depending on what ‘s available) each week from the Regional Food Bank warehouse to the Grace United Methodist Church location in Putnam Valley. A much larger group (15 – 18) of volunteers distributes the food to the families each Saturday morning.
